Ingredients:
- 14 oz can of condensed milk
- 12 oz can evaporated milk
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup sugar
- You will also need a 9inch round baking pan
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
- in a small saucepan heat up the sugar and continuously stir with a wooden spoon until all the sugar is melted and a caramel color
- You will notice the sugar clumping but keep stirring and the sugar will eventually melt
- while melting the sugar place a 9 inch round baking pan (or whatever shape pan you’d like) into the oven
- Pour the melted sugar into the heated pan and be sure to coat the entire bottom
- In a blender mix together the evaporated milk, condensed milk, eggs, and vanilla
- Pour the mixture into the baking pan (you will hear the caramel cracking and that’s totally normal)
- Place the baking pan inside a larger dish and place boiling water into it to create a water bath. You want to fill up the water until about 1 inch from the top. Be sure to not get any water into the mixture.
- Cover the top of the pan with foil and bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes (this varies with every oven)
- You know it’s done when you place a toothpick through the flan and it comes out clean
- Let cool completely and place in the fridge for 2 hours minimum
- Enjoy!
